 I Lykaion nascono nel 2000 dalle ceneri dei Creepy
Shadow e dopo varie vicissitudini e cambi di line-up trovano una
formazione stabile solo nel 2004, composta da Luca Mazzilli alla voce,
Fabio Valentini e Alessandro Sforza alle chitarre, Valerio Miseferi al
basso ed Andrea Alberati alla batteria.
I cinque cominciano piano piano a creare un sound personale, miscelando
parti acustiche malinconiche con un guitar work progressive, in una
atmosfera "onirica", e cominciano ad esibirsi in vari locali romani.
Nel Gennaio 2005 i Lykaion registrano il promo "Behind... a Whisper",
che viene accolto molto positivamente dalla critica, e supportato da
varie date sia a Roma che fuori.
Verso la fine del 2005, però, Luca Mazzilli decide inaspettatamente di
lasciare la band, ed i Lykaion cominciano la ricerca di un nuovo
cantante, finché, nel 2006, incontrano Tiziana Palmieri...
La versatilità vocale di Tiziana permette di estremizzare le parti
aggressive e di creare suadenti melodie. Unitamente a questo il suono
della band si evolve, diventa più personale e approda ad un sound
progressivo più moderno ed aperto a sonorità sia più estreme (Nevermore,
Opeth, Katatonia, Killswitch Engage) che estranee al metal ( nuovi
Anathema). Nel maggio del 2006 si recano nei 16th Cellar Studios per la
registrazione del nuovo promo "The Things I've Left" prodotto molto più
accuratamente dei precedenti. Attualmente i Lykaion promuovono il loro
lavoro esibendosi nei maggiori club della capitale e d'Italia e
ricercando un contratto discografico. |

 The Lykaion band was formed in 2000,by the remaining
members of another band called “Creepy Shadow” and after many
vicissitudes and many line-up changes, a stable formation was found in
2004,composed by Luca Mazzilli at the vocal, Fabio Valentini and
Alessandro Sforza at the guitars, Valerio Miseferi at the bass and
Andrea Alberati at the drums.
In January 2005 Lykaion recorded the promo “Behind…a whisper”, that was
valued by the critics in a positive way and promoted through many
concerts, both in Rome and other places.
At the end of 2005 Luca Mazzilli suddently decided to leave the band, so
Lykaion started to look for another singer, until they meet Tiziana
Palmieri in 2006…
The great vocal versatily of Tiziana allows the band to develop the
aggressive parts and to create persuasive melodies. At the same time the
sound of the band evolves, it becomes more personal and it gets a more
progressive modern sound, open both to extreme sonority (Nevermore,
Opeth, Katatonia, Killswitch, Engage) and to different ones, unrelelated
to metal (last Anathema).
In may 2006 Lykaion recorded the new promo “The things I’ve left”, a
more accurate work than the others, in the 16th Cellar Studios.
At the moment Lykaion are promoting their last work, performing in the
main clubs of Rome and of Italy, and they are looking for a recording
contract. |
