pre-production sessions!
In the cold depths of Jonna's Box (cold enough to make us wonder
why we keep the fridge on), the usual roaring guitar, pounding bass,
smashing drums and loud screamings have been rerouted onto hard disk.
Despite the fact that we had no scheduling at all, yesterday we started
recording some basic instrumental tracks for our beloved Mimmo God to
subsequently arrange vocals, and we surprisingly ended up recording a whole
song (the drop-d guitar-driven Blink Of An Eye) in a
way-much-better-than-we-expected demo form.
Honestly, we don't have the required hardware and
knowledge to arrange a pro recording, but we're pleased of the result: a
basic track with rhythm guitar, bass and drums recorded live together (drums had
only one aerial microphone), plus an additional guitar overdub for
the solos, 3 backing vocals lines (provided by Jonna, Matt and Rob) and
of course a main vocal line.
It took three hours, a shitload of laughters, half a
dozen of beers (and of course half a dozen of pisses) and a respectable
amount of cigarettes to record the whole thing, which only have to be
roughly mixed now - even if our perfectionistic singer already announced
he wants to redo the main lines. It shouldn't be necessary, being stuff
just for us (and not for myspace).
But there's one thing that you'll be able to hear for
sure, even if only the italians will be able to appreciate it: a short
clip of Blink of an eye with Mimmo God singing and suddenly stopping,
complaining about some effect that makes his voice sound like Daisy Duck!
It was absolutely hilarious, we couldn't stop laughing!
By the way, we got enthralled enough to schedule a
second attempt tomorrow, most likely the song will be Piracy!

- 30 seconds to Mimmo
The first 30 seconds of music - thus in a rough,
unmixed, unpolished version - are available to listen: it's the opening
riff of the first song we wrote together, Blink Of An Eye. Since
we had no green light from Mimmo regarding his vocals sessions, you can basically listen to... 30 seconds
to mimmo!

But, being four assholes, we also decided that a small
clip featuring Mimmo on vocals has to be spread - while singing, he
started complaining that the effects on his voice made him sound like
Daisy Duck... you HAVE to listen to it!

We also did the backing tracks (guitar + bass + drums)
for Piracy and Fat Sheep (a new, groovy song written by
Rob'n'Roll), and shot some funny, raw videos - the one of Jonna singing
his own version of piracy is hilarious! Some more music will be online soon, we are recording
on a twice-a-week basis!

- Enjoy your Piracy responsibly
This time you can enjoy the first 30 seconds of
Piracy: once again, it's a 30-seconds-to-mimmo thing, we did a
decent recording of the backing track but the vocal take was not
satisfying enough. So it's just a brief taste of the sound, we want you
to enjoy Piracy responsibly!

- Jonna wants two beers!
Pre-production sessions are almost over, we recorded
two more basic tracks but the quality is not as good as the first two (that's
why you won't find them for listening); the first song is called
House Of Rock, we only need to add some more arrogant lyrics, but it
is 99% complete. The other is a reworking of the song formerly known as
Twisted Jonna, but with a new verse, a killer chorus and a striking
working title: Jonna Wants Two Beers!
We booked the studio for early April and we hope to record the four
complete songs we have - Fat Sheep, at the moment, will not be
recorded, we are not 100% satisfied of the result.
