05-06-07/07/2008 - Summer Glam Attakk festival, Torino - before/after show.

The Summer Glam Attakk festival has been a memorable experience, but not exactly the way we expected. Rob, Matt and Mimmo left Rome for Turin in the late morning of friday, expecting to arrive around 9pm at the hotel, while Jonna had to leave later. Surprisingly, he's been the first to arrive because the other three have been stopped on the highway for 4 long hours because of a severe car crash with trucks involved - so they arrived at the hotel at 1am!
After a short rest, we went to the festival area for a beer with Hollywood Killerz and Gemini Five, and we returned to the hotel nearly at dawn.
Saturday we arrive at the festival area at 2pm, ready to help setting up the drums & amps, and quite excited to see how big is the stage.

To make things easier for the stage technicians, there are two drumkits on stage, here's a short video of Jonna doing the soundcheck for the second kit:

Knowing that the show will be recorded and streamed on the internet makes us a bit picky at the soundcheck but we want to avoid as much technical problems as we can.
We then returned to the hotel for a shower (setting up the stage and soundchecking with such a heat & humidity made us completely sweat), and around 8pm we're back at the festival area, happy to finally meet some friends.
Right before getting on the stage, Glaze (the main organizer) informed us that we can play an extra song, we asked him to choose and he went for Living After Midnight. As usual, we haven't rehearsed it, and as usual we end up playing it... shit happens!

Our show started at 9.30 pm, it was getting dark but still as hot as in the afternoon, and we were totally sweat after just half of the first song. We spent the other half of the song asking the stage technicians to fix the volumes in the monitors, then we could finally concentrate and deliver what we consider our most energetic gig so far.

of course, we returned at the hotel nearly at dawn once again. As usual, the day after at the Glamattakk festival is a dinner with the "survivors", usually the organizers, Hollywood Killerz and the bands from outside Torino, and this time is no exception: we went to a country restaurant 30km west of Torino for a delightful lunch!

After the rain, the sun came out again, but we couldn't leave because many trees fell on the road: we had to wait for the fire department to remove the trees and in the meantime the waitress offered us lots of drinks: here's Deadend and Matt enjoying the unexpected epilogue

Four hours after the scheduled time, we made it to leave the restaurant; after all, we had a lot of fun and made some new friends! On the way back home, we met Kris and Kelly at the gas station... let's have a picture together!!!
