Rollo,
a friend of some of us, sadly passed away before his time, and we spent
the whole morning at the funeral. So, after bidding farewell to him, we went to Temple Of Noise for the bass sessions. It took a couple of
hours to set up the amp, fix some troubles with the bass electronics and
tuning (who appeared to be quite susceptible to humidity).
Mirko came up with a 4x10 Classic Ampeg cabinet (Rob's fave brand) and
suggested to choose between an Ampeg Svt3 head and a Mark Bass. Rob
imediately said he wanted to used the Ampeg head but after some attempts,
it was clear that the Mark Bass worked better for the kind of sound Rob
needed. "I can't believe I'm not gonna use the Ampeg", commented, even
if his frustration was actually a mere matter of form - not only Ampeg is
well known
to be better than Mark Bass, but Rob himself is a devoted Ampeg fanatic!
Rob being happy for the sound, after all:
Let's start recording!

Here's a video of Rob recording Piracy and Jonna Wants To Beer; the
guitar track you hear is the basic track that had been recorded when we
were playing during Matt's sessions. We recommend you to watch it until
the end, it gets more and more hilarious!

Matt's shoes and Jonna - being enthralled by Ogame, again:
Rob had to leave early, so only two songs were recorded. But Jonna
stayed in the studio and set up his guitar sound in 20 minutes, which is
an incredibly short time, usually it may take hours. Thirty minutes
later, he had recorded the three guitar tracks for Jonna Wants
Two Beers! That's a record!
